John R. Adams, Narrator

John R. Adams has been associated with the American Youth Philharmonic as a parent and sponsor for over 18 years. Among his musical enterprises, he was Manager and scriptwriter for the Yale Precision Marching Band, scriptwriter and briefly announcer for the University of Pennsylvania Bands, and Clarinet Player and Section Leader for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Band. More recently, he played saxophone in several big bands in the Washington area, such as the LaSalle Dance Orchestra. He also served as chaperone and AYP bass clarinetist on the Orchestra’s trip to Russia in 1998. His daughter, Elizabeth, spent eight years with the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras under directors Rosenberg, Bianchi, and Haza. Dr. Adams retired as a planner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
