Jump-start your AYPO experience this summer with the AYPO Summer String Academy! From 9:00-4:00, August 8-12 rising 3-6 grade musicians are invited to participate in a week dedicated to building a great foundation for orchestral playing. The AYPO Summer String Academy will prepare our newest musicians for the up-coming season in the Debut Orchestra with a specific focus on music literacy, sight-reading and ensemble skills. During the Academy students will have the opportunity to play side-by-side with experienced student mentors from AYPO and work with Debut Orchestra Conductor, Laura Cahn. The students will work to prepare a final performance on Friday, August 12 at 3:00PM. The AYPO Summer String Academy is open to both AYPO members and young musicians who do not yet participate in AYPO*. Students who do not audition for the Debut Orchestra in June but would like to join will be able to audition at the culmination of the AYPO Summer String Academy.

All interested students must complete the application. *Students who are NOT current members of AYPO or will NOT be auditioning for AYPO in June 2016 will need to submit a YouTube link of a solo piece as part of the application to be considered for the program.
