HOW DO I MAKE A CONTRIBUTION?

Select any of the options below to contribute directly to these funds

Founded in October, 1964, AYPO formerly NVYSO (Northern Virginia Youth Symphony Orchestra) became the first area-wide youth symphony. Organized by Mrs. John A Farris, AYPO was established to provide an outstanding youth orchestra for talented instrumentalists through their senior year in high school and to stimulate community interest in music.

In support of the AYPO mission, a gift to the annual fund supports our continued dedication to program a full range of music programs for your musicians, challenging young musicians to strive for excellence, to complement the music programs in schools, and to stimulate community engagement and interest in music. The future of music starts with the experience and dreams realized here.

Supporting the Bianchi Scholarship Fund, Eric Roberts Scholarship Fund, current season financial aid gifts or sponsor a concert or musician chair to see your name or company recognized. These gifts enable AYPO to increase accessibility to students and raise the standard of excellence and talent among all of the participants.

"I cannot express how extremely grateful I am for this aid. Because of the gift you have bestowed upon me, I have been able to expand my educational horizon while gaining much knowledge."

- Quote from a current student.

Endowment funds are used to support our financial aid applicants on an annual basis. This support is a gift to the organization's long-term sustainability, ensuring its next 60 years of educational success and unique opportunities.

New in 2026: Universal Charitable Tax Deductions!

There’s exciting news for AYPO supporters. Beginning this year, a universal charitable tax deduction makes it easier than ever to give and to benefit from your giving.

Even if you don’t itemize your taxes (like roughly 90% of filers), you can now deduct charitable contributions directly from your taxable income.

That means your support for AYPO can have an even greater impact. For the current tax year, individuals may deduct up to $1,000, and couples filing jointly up to $2,000.
