AYPO Marketing

What is your current AYPO ensemble?

Philharmonic (AYP)

What AYPO ensembles have you played in and for how long?

AYP 2022-2025.

What college/university do you plan on attending this fall?

University of Virginia.

What do you hope to do after graduation or your more long-term goals?

“Get a degree, go to graduate school, and get my master’s in psychology or counseling.”

A favorite, or memorable AYPO experience?

“My favorite memory in AYP is performing Mahler 1 in the 2022-2023 season. Performing this piece truly sparked my love for playing in an orchestra and watching all my talented peers perform with immense passion is something I will never forget.”

What musician, conductor, or orchestra inspires you and why?

“My biggest musical inspiration is my violin teacher, the goat, Hyun Park. Although our lessons are through facetime, she has taught me everything, especially how to be passionate for violin.”

Your advice for young musicians?

“Listen to the entire ensemble and not just yourself! Not only does this help you play together with the orchestra, it helps you to hear the grand tapestry of music and the story that is being told. + truly cherish your time playing your instrument. We are so privileged to be a part of an orchestra, so do not take this privilege for granted!”

Congratulations, Jiho!
