What is your current AYPO ensemble?

Philharmonic (AYP), Chamber Ensemble

What AYPO ensembles have you played in and for how long?

AYP -- 2023 to present; AYSO -- 2022; AYCO -- 2021; AYSE -- 2020; AYDO -- 2019; JCE -- 2021; SCE -- 2024 to present

What college/university do you plan on attending this fall?

Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester

What do you hope to do after graduation or your more long-term goals?

I hope to become a composer for film soundtracks and help enhance wonderful productions.

A favorite, or memorable AYPO experience?

I have really enjoyed making friends and having such a supportive and amazing community with AYPO. I have made life-long friends that I will cherish forever and always support, and I know they will do the same for me. I would not be the person I am today had it not been for the wonderful people I have met through the AYPO community.

What musician, conductor, or orchestra inspires you and why?

The talented violinist Augustin Hadelich really inspires me. Hadelich is a burn survivor and had sustained injuries, however that did not stop his passion for music and I find that very admirable. His stage presence, skill, kindness, and courage are all traits I aspire to have more of.

Your advice for young musicians?

Don't try to copy others - be yourself! Success is all about standing out and making an impact.

Congratulations, Ellsie!
